A Note From Sylvia

Advertising in Twin Cities PBS Magazine Mike Santi: Director of Sponsorship sponsor@tpt.org

As winter begins its slow retreat across Minnesota, I find myself noticing the small signs of change that remind us how close we are to spring — the lengthening daylight, the shimmer of thawing ice on the lakes, the quiet promise of renewal in the air. At Twin Cities PBS, a sense of anticipation is very much alive. Each season brings new stories to discover, ideas to explore, and opportunities to connect more deeply with our community. This spring, I am especially excited about the premiere of several character-driven dramas that PBS does so beautifully. “The Forsytes” offers a richly layered portrait of family, ambition, and changing social values — timeless themes that feel remarkably relevant today. The epic adventure of “The Count of Monte Cristo” brings intrigue, romance, and moral complexity to the screen in a way that reminds us why classic stories endure. And the much- loved, award-winning drama “Call the Midwife” returns for Season 15 as the nurses and midwives embrace change and welcome the Women’s Liberation Movement. All three of these series premiere on Sunday, March 22. Beyond these highlights, our schedule continues to reflect the breadth and depth of public media: documentaries that deepen understanding, cultural programs that celebrate creativity, and local productions that amplify the rich variety of stories and perspectives that shape Minnesota’s identity. As we approach the end of winter, I’m grateful for the role you play in sustaining this work. Your support makes it possible for Twin Cities PBS to serve our community with trusted journalism, inspiring storytelling, and educational resources for learners of

Henry David Thoreau Who Are We?

Henry David Thoreau Being Alive

As the nation struggles with its ideals and industry reshapes the land, Henry David Thoreau pursues a career as an author. But, unsuccessful and disheartened, he retreats to a cabin in the woods to live simply, deliberately — and write. (Part 1 of 3). TPT 2 • Monday, March 30 • 8 pm

At Walden Pond, Thoreau finds solace in nature and writes two books, including a classic about his time there. Over his two-year stay, an expedition to Maine and an act of civil disobedience protesting slavery reshape his idea of freedom. (Part 2 of 3). TPT 2 • Monday, March 30 • 9 pm
