Exegetical Journeys in Biblical Hebrew 90 Days of Guided Reading H. H. Hardy II

Often students want to maintain their Biblical Hebrew when they’re between courses, or they want to return to reading the Hebrew Bible after some time away, but they don’t know where to start. This book provides ninety days of guided readings to help students retain or refresh their knowledge and grow their skill in reading and interpreting the Old Testament. H. H. Hardy II guides readers through level-appropriate passages selected from across the Old Testament canon, encouraging them to read and investigate a few verses each day. The book begins with easy passages and gradually increases in difficulty throughout the ninety days. Each guided reading includes the Hebrew text, expla- nations of unfamiliar vocabulary and verb forms, and grammatical descriptions focused on exegesis. Each day ends with a “For the Journey” section, which reflects on important details and applica - tions of the text. This follow-up to Hardy’s Exegetical Gems from Biblical Hebrew is ideal for Hebrew language students after their first year of study and for those who want to revive their knowledge and love of Bibli- cal Hebrew. A companion volume for Greek is also available. “This is an outstanding and approachable resource to help stu- dents retain the basics of Hebrew grammar while also moving them forward by building their vocabulary and guiding them toward exegetical insights. Highly recommended for those wishing to revive and advance their Biblical Hebrew!” —Andrew T. Abernethy, Wheaton College “This welcome book provides exactly what students need to continue in their Hebrew studies. Exegetical Journeys in Biblical Hebrew would be ideal as a textbook or for self-study!” —Jerry Hwang, Trinity Christian College “Thanks to Professor Hardy, students now have someone to go before them and bring them into the land of Biblical Hebrew proficiency!” —Andrew M. King, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary & Spurgeon College “An expertly compiled Hebrew reader that stands out from so many others by considering carefully a student’s needs and growth as they become more and more comfortable reading the Hebrew Bible.”' —Michelle Knight, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
