Welcome to the 6 th Annual HanSine Ranch Production Sale! We are humbled and honored to celebrate another year of raising the best Red Angus cattle we possibly can. Firstly, none of this would be possible without our past bidders and buyers—your support keeps us looking forward and striving to make every generation better. It’s amazing that this is already our sixth annual sale. Looking back, it is incredible how fast time has gone by and how much improvement we see in our program and cattle. We could not be prouder of the bulls and heifers offered in this catalog; they have performed exceptionally well, and we sincerely feel this is the best set we’ve offered to date. Over the past six years of raising seedstock bulls and heifers, we like to think we’ve learned a little bit and now make fewer mistakes. Yes, our feeding program gets more refined with each and every calf crop, as do the genetics that make this all possible. Our embryo transfer program has nearly doubled in number of recipients and progeny born, leading to a good problem—nearly too many bulls to choose from. We started this year with 186 weaned bulls, and it has been hard (and heartbreaking) to narrow them down to the 118 bulls being offered. Not long ago it was easy to find the ‘best’ 100 bulls; after weeding out obvious problems— feet, low performance, or disposition issues the potential pool was fairly small. Today we have fewer obvious problem and we have to make harder and more objective choices of which ones to offer in the sale. Our goal has always been to only sell the very best, and we feel like we’re getting closer. All this would not be possible without the crew that is the heart and soul of HanSine. Bruce Thompson, Cade Wurts, and Casey Henniger do the heavy lifting of caring for our cattle day in and day out—through rain, snow, cold, or sunshine every day. We also appreciate Bryce Baker and Adele Hartley with ADM Feed for taking our development program to the next level. And of course, to my wife and kids—your support means everything. You are always the crew on standby ready to help out anytime, listen to me go on about this upcoming sale or how good a bull looked today, and most of all, keep me grounded in the things that mean the most—my family.
