Dear Friends and Cattlemen, It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our 55th Annual Production Sale! Wow! Has there really been 55 productions sales? Seems like just yesterday, my sister, Janet Dohrmann, and I were cleaning up, sorting and pushing bulls into the sale ring for our dad, Allen Opp, when he held the first one. Right from the start, Janet and I had a vested interest in the outcome. We both had bulls in the sale and raised out of our show heifers. It will be 8 years this March since mom and dad passed. I often wonder what Allen would have to say about a legacy that has resulted in two daughters, three granddaughters, six great grandsons, and two great granddaughters all involved in the purebred cattle industry! Our family would like to start by thanking our many valued and loyal customers who have placed their trust and confidence in us to supply them with high-quali- ty seedstock year after year. Our long history in the business tells the story of customer satisfaction that is - and always will be - our highest priority! Approximately 80% of our buyers each year are repeat customers, some have bought our cattle for over 30 years. We greatly appreciate those folks who have patronized us for so many years. We also look forward to providing quality cattle to those who are willing to give us a try for the first time. Richard and I are slowly cutting back our herd to make room for the Strommens, and therefore 10 super fancy yearling heifers from the heart of the Fast replace- ments will again be a top feature in this year's sale! We believe strongly in the genetics that we produce. Throughout the offering you will find dams sired by our home grown bulls such as Fast-Strommen Reno 987, Fast Capitalist 414, and Fast-Strommen Payweight 845 to name a few. We encourage everyone to stop by as we would be happy to show the cattle to you and allow us to help you find what you are looking for. This year DVAuction will offer live online auction for those of you unable to attend on sale day. We have a great sale offering of bulls that are not creep fed. After weaning they are fed a high roughage - low concentrate ration. It's a ration which allows them to gain evenly and consistently without ruining their feet or jeopardizing their fertility. Our customers report that the life span of our bulls in their herds has been up to 5, 6 and yes...as much as 10 years! We believe in producing efficient, practical and profitable Angus cattle. We strive for efficient cattle that are just the right size for their environment and still grow heavy calves. Practical cattle that calve easily, are quiet to handle, require less labor, and are easy fleshing to keep feed costs down. Profitable cattle that are affordable, but generate the kind of calves that feeder buyers demand. So join us for our 55th sale!
