Digital Futures - building and transforming digital workforce skills for today and tomorrow across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Did you know that Cornwall has the fastest growing tech sector in the South West. This is creating an increasing demand for digital

skills which cannot currently be met locally. New Digital Opportunities for You!

Digital Futures is a new project, receiving £2 million of funding through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. It brings together 11 partners, led by Truro and Penwith College, to harness that growth and convert it into economic opportunity for our region by developing a pipeline of talent. The Project launched in February, creating a shared space for all things digital. It focuses on providing opportunities for local people, whilst tackling the challenges of a growing industry. It showcases that through delivering exciting training programmes and well-paid jobs locally, our vibrant tech sector can raise aspirations and create opportunities.

Digital Futures is for anyone, and everyone, aged 16+ living in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Those wishing to upskill in their current roles. Plus, school leavers, students, people who are unemployed, or employed in roles which don’t utilise their skills and knowledge, and those looking to change career. One of the delivery partners, TECwomen, will be offering more chances to take part in their DigitalUPLIFT through the Project. It was brilliantly received by the first group who undertook the programme including Steph White.

“Thanks to the DigitalUPLIFT programme I was able to make important connections in the world of tech and digital, right here in Cornwall. This amazing opportunity, the mentors we had, and the introductions into the different areas of tech helped me to realise what career path I wanted to follow and how to get there. I’m very pleased to say that 7 months after completing the course, I got an Apprenticeship as a Data Analyst.” To find out more about how Digital Futures can support you: Telephone: 01872 305 757 Email: digitalfutures@truro-penwith.ac.uk www.digitalfuturescornwall.co.uk
