2024 ANNUAL REPORT
GREAT CITIES ARE ENHANCED BY GREAT PARKS
PARK IMPACT Advanced designs in 2024 allowed us to revisit our impact study with third-party experts' with up-to-date specifics on Park elements and scope, we found that:
The West Overlook alone will absorb 22 million gallons of stormwater, significantly reduce heat island impact, and remove thousands of pounds of particulate matter from the air.
The Park will generate $7B in its first 30 years, in an area of marked underinvestment and underdevelopment.
Thanks to the Park, 10,000-20,000 people will benefit from reduced chronic disease because of increased access to recreation opportunities. This is the equivalent of 10% of Dallas ISD students growing up to be healthier adults thanks to Harold Simmons Park.
The Park will welcome 3 million people per year. For reference, other major assets/destinations garner about 1 million visitors per year. The opportunity to share cultural resources, STEM education, healthy lifestyle exposure, conservation messaging, and more will be tripled by this Park.
