impossible. When will we wake up to the fact that only God’s way is possi ble. Why do people spend so much time trying desperately to do what is impossible, neglecting the one thing that can bring success and victory..We need to get men to a saving knowl edge of Jesus Christ knowing that God is already reconciled to them and that they may be reconciled to God. Once this is accomplished then a re conciliation between man and man is possible. The Lord, however, has no reconciliation program a p a rt from this for the sinning nations. Both Is rael and the Gentiles, have rejected and destroyed mankind. The Word of God thunders, “The wicked shall be turned into hell and the nations that forget God.” Liberal theologians frequently talk glibly about the Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of men. Aside from the redeemed, that is basically a lie. God is the Creator and also the providential Father of the wicked but never their loving heavenly Father. What folly is found in the familiar words that all religions are of equal value, as men vainly try to create one great world with one incipient re ligion. Never before has the devil so deluded churches with such atrocious falsehood as in this present hour. The insidious method is most generally to discredit first of all the authenticity qf Jesus Christ as a unique being, the

God-man. By faith in Him any man may be made the son of God. This is the Christian revelation. The peace which the angels proclaimed was a peace between God and man. Our min istry is one of reconciliation. The sins of the whole world were laid upon Jesus. A holy God had to turn His back on His Son momentarily until Jesus cried out, “My God, my God why hast Thou forsaken me?” Christ saw the travail of His soul and was satisfied. God had to see that the sins of the world, yours and mine, was atoned for by the innocent Suf ferer. The punishment was borne, and the righteousness of God was upheld in satisfaction. The meaning of the new birth from God’s side is that a man is brought into the viewpoint of his Son. That is, God looks upon even the violent sinner, who has come to repentance by way of the cross, just as righteous as Jesus Christ. Think of that! Oh the unsearchable riches of the grace of God in Christ. How tragic that the grace of God has been so perverted through apostacy. Men who are dead in trespasses and sins cannot be made alive through social change; by “whitewashing the pump” instead of cleansing the well. Satan has deluded thousands of ministers into preaching another Gospel, reject ing entirely the highest thing in God’s Word which is reconciliation through Christ. Stay close to the Scriptures and do not be led astray by “every wind of doctrine” of man. NEED FOR BIBLE STUDY So many folks have really little con cept today of what Christianity is all about. It is like the infrequent church goer who told the preacher, “You know, my philosophy is simply the golden rule. I think that’s about all one needs to know concerning religion.” The pa tient and thoughtful pastor smilingly re sponded, “That sounds like my views on astronomy. I just believe in, ‘Twinkle, twinkle little star.’ Actually, I feel that’s all I need to know about astronomy.” You see, there’s far more than just the golden rule if one desires to be “ap proved unto God, a workman who need- eth not to be ashamed." 19
