66', If you were receiving SSDI benefits prior to incarceration, your payments are in suspense during the entire time of your incarceration. Once released from jail or prison, you can report to the local Social Security office to have your SSDI payments reinstated. You do not have to re-apply for SSDI benefits. Medicaid If you were receiving Medicaid prior to incarceration, Medicaid benefits are terminated after 30 consecutive days of incarceration. The Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS) has a Medicaid prerelease policy that allows potentially eligible incarcerated individuals to apply for Medicaid prior to release.
