crossword puzzle and cryptoquip. And I really enjoy cooking. But as Julie says, as we enjoy our lives, we do pray for the people of the world who are in crisis and especially for those suffering in Ukraine and other parts of the world who are experiencing war and despair, and those here at home in America experiencing poverty. In this next year, we are all (except Malitta) going to be turning 80, so I think we should have a big Zoom meeting next May or June to celebrate. If anyone can facilitate that for us, I would greatly appreciate it. Let me know at capecodwoman43@gmail.com please. In the meantime, have a great year and send me your news! Ciao! 1962 HGS Marshal D. Gibson mgibtax@aol.com From Kerry Triffin : “All is very well indeed. I am soon to be a grandfather bon-papa for the fifth time (three in Stowe, Vermont, and two in Miami). My wonderful wife, partner- in-life, keeps enriching everything. My loving daughters are a delight. I continue to spend a lot of time in the woods, and am very active with the Bethany Land Trust, a small but mighty group who are being remarkably successful in expanding wildlife corridors and adding strategic properties that are natural havens protected from development. (Have any extra money? We’d be happy to show you how and where it could be spent to very good effect.) My other major involvement is with Home Haven, a local mutual self-help group of wonderful, smart, open-hearted older people who want to continue living in their own homes as long as possible and who build friendships and help each other with the challenges of meeting that goal. This is proving to be one of the real joys of my life. I would love to tell you more and invite you to link up.” 1962 DPH Judith Parker Cole judithparkercole@gmail.com Ann Carter Drier has written, “I took my first road trip east in five years this past summer. The impetus was a wedding of an old colleague which took place in New Hampshire… also saw Terri Petrillo

Connolly and Frank in Connecticut for two days. Grandkids are great—Declan is 6 and Sadie is 10, quite the young lady!” From Mae Hultin : “My big news is my move last summer to Jefferson’s Ferry, a continuing care retirement community in East Setauket, Long Island, just three miles from my former home. I have been making new friends without losing the old ones and enjoying all the advantages of the community. My children live within driving distance and we have all avoided COVID so far. I have much to be grateful for.” Roz Farnam shared a health update: “I’m just letting you know that I am still alive and still have cancer. I’ve had a recurrence and am now back on chemo.” Roz is still living with husband Jim, daughter Laura, and grandson Julian in the Applewood neighborhood near Golden, Colorado. “We have a houseful of animals with a new dog, two cats, and two guinea pigs.” I know we all wish the very best to our dear friend Roz, and appreciate the openness and courage she has shown in sharing these updates with us. Terri Petrillo Connolly reported from Florida: “Frank and I sold our home in Connecticut in October. We’re building a new house in Cromwell, Connecticut, with our older daughter and her baby, but the house won’t be ready until spring sometime, so we are lucky to have a small condo in Estero, Florida, to call home until we can head back north.” Hurricane Ian landed in the area where they have their home, but fortunately they live far enough inland that they didn’t have any serious property damage. And yours truly, Judy Parker Cole , enjoyed the summer and early fall at our traditional rental cottage in the little seaside village of Ocean Park, Maine. I shared eight weeks with various family members. This very cottage was first rented by my parents in 1985, and we have rented every year since then. And my mother first came to this little village as an infant in the summer of 1912! Now I’m the “older generation” and enjoy seeing my children and grandchildren here. Thank you to all who contributed their news. Hoping to hear from other classmates next time.

Pat Fiorito Oakes , Mary Anne Barry Cox , and Ginny Hart Thomas got together for a mini-mini-mini reunion in October when Ginny was back in New Haven. They enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Wharf at the Madison Beach Hotel. In November, Mary Anne, Ginny, Nancy Bussmann Van Natta , Lynne Davis Lyons , and Bonnie/ Carol Stock Kranowitz gathered via Zoom for another delightful “catch-up.” More of a Dear Old Friends bunch than a book club, we also spent a few minutes discussing Clementine Churchill: Biography of a Marriage . We hope others will contact maryannebarrycox@gmail.com to learn more and will find the time to join us. Next on the reading list are Soul of an Octopus and A Woman of No Importance . Read them—or don’t! Just come. Nancy Bussmann Van Natta writes, “I serve on the board of the Santa Cruz Symphony, and we are back to live performances following a two-year COVID shutdown. The musicians are so happy to be performing, and we are so grateful for their artistry. Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique has never sounded more beautiful than it did in November.” “As someone who was in no hurry to have grandchildren in her life,” writes Robin Isakson Martin , “I am now besotted with my two granddaughters—one is 2.5 and the other 6 months. Little people are so fascinating and amusing! When I am not looking at their pictures, I am still working full time, but remotely, at my passion of more than 40 years: the Asia for Educators program at Columbia’s Weatherhead East Asian Institute; the on-line materials had more than 3 million page views last year. This is the most important area of the world in some ways, and one which very few teachers have the background to include in world history courses.” Robin and Bonnie/ Carol met up for a delightful brunch in New York City soon after Thanksgiving to
