1.6 DISMISSAL Dismissal of host will only take effect, after thorough investigation process. Director of HR will have to seek the approval of the General Manager. Any host who have been dismissed by the resort will not be allowed to enter the resort premises, unless written approval has been obtained from the General Manager. 1.7 SUSPENSION WITH PAY Suspension with pay is a temporary measure to assist in the clarification of facts and collation of details and is not regarded as disciplinary action or a penalty of any kind. On some occasions, it may be necessary for a Host to be suspended on half/full pay by the General Manager and the Director of Human Resources in order for a potentially difficult situation to be avoided or to facilitate an uninterrupted investigation process to take place. At the end of the investigation, a Host found guilty, the full or half pay withheld will not be reinstated. Department Heads shall not suspend a Host without the prior consent from the Director of Human Resources and the General Manager. Suspension should not be longer than 14 days.

1.8 LEGAL INVOLVEMENT If a Host becomes involved in a criminal case or offences against the laws of the Republic of Maldives, it is imperative that Management is informed in writing, stating the full circumstances without any delay.

The Resort may suspend the Host depending on the nature of the offences.

Further actions against the Host shall be in accordance with the existing local Employment Act.

In a guilty situation, the Host’s employment will be immediately terminated without due notice. In a situation where the Host is absent from work on no pay for 3 consecutive days after exhausting all paid leave due to him/her, the Host’s employment will be immediately terminated with notice in lieu of pay. 1.9 ISSUING OF WRITTEN WARNINGS Department Head shall forward to Director of Human Resources detailing the incident and Director Human Resources shall formalize the Written Warning in consultation with the respective Department Head thereafter, the Department Head together with Director Human Resources and witness shall issue the Written Warnings to the Host and the Host will be given an opportunity to explain.
