FAMILY EMERGENCY LEAVE

If you are rostered to work on a Gazetted Public Holidays, you will be paid 1 ½ times your hourly wage for the normal hours of work and overtime. As such you cannot apply to take the leave at a later date.

Hosts are entitled for 10 days of paid leave in a year to attend to important obligation such as tending to family members during illness. A medical certificate shall be provided to justify the leave application. Emergency leave granted shall be for immediate family members. Namely; father, mother, spouse and child. Emergency is deemed to be critical illness, dangerously ill list, natural disasters and/or accident involving bodily injuries sustained and Hosts shall be responsible for providing documentary evidence upon reaching the destination.

MATERNITY LEAVE

Female Hosts shall be eligible for 60 days paid maternity leave upon the birth of her child. Maternity leave application must be supported by medical certificate from a licensed medical practitioner detailing the expected delivery time. Only fulltime permanent female hosts are eligible for maternity leave. A further leave of twenty eight days in addition to the maternity leave shall be granted to female Host where a licensed medical practitioner certifies the Host’s inability to return to work either due to the ill-health of the mother or the baby. Such leave can be granted prior to the estimated date of delivery or after delivery.

SICK LEAVE

All Host are entitled to 30 days paid sick leave per year upon submission of medical certificate and supporting documents from a registered medical practitioner. Sick leave is non-cumulative i.e. it cannot be accumulated from one year to the next year.

PATERNITY LEAVE

You must visit the resort doctor if you are sick and confirm the illness and reason of not being able to work, by the resort doctor.

Male Hosts shall be granted 3 days paid paternity leave on the occasion of the birth of his child. Such leave shall commence from the date of birth of his child and Hosts shall be responsible for providing the birth certificate upon his return from leave.

Departments will apply for the Sick leave and the HR Department will approve the leave in HR System after medical certificate is submitted along with monthly attendance from departments.
