Welcome to the Wonder Hub TPT’s new initiative spotlights events and resources for parents, caregivers, and their families
Before the development of our program, we reached out to parents, caretakers, and other experts in the field to learn more about the challenges that parents face and how our station can meet these challenges. There were many challenges shared with us; lack of appropriate media options for their children, balancing career demands with parental responsibilities, handling big emotions during social development, and connecting with other parents. The feedback we gathered is at the core of why we created the Wonder Hub. We want to create a platform that leverages what our station is great at, telling stories that impact and using our resources to create a community of learning for parents. Whether you are a parent looking to connect to a larger community, a grandparent finding a fun event to bring a grandchild, or a caretaker searching for family-friendly programming, the Wonder Hub has you covered.
The Twin Cities PBS: Wonder Hub is a free-to-join group that provides an inside look into programming and events that focus on families. Each month, Wonder Hub participants receive updates through email and our website about the different ways to get engaged with our family programming.
What do we do at the Wonder Hub? Here are four ways we keep families involved!
• Program Recommendations: The Wonder Hub curates programs from TPT and PBS that families will love with a special emphasis on shows that families can co-view and enjoy together. • Event Invitations: Whether hosted at our station or out in the community, the Wonder Hub shares invitations for events with families looking for something fun and educational to do together. • Resources and Activities: Dig deeper into your favorite shows with resources like video games and activity guides that are shared and downloadable at no cost. • Stories from Parents: Hear directly from parents about the challenges and triumphs that they encounter in our monthly blog and video series.
