A mahogany armchair with pink velvet upholstery and geometrical inlay in the corners of the armrests and resting on four brass wheels. 77x60x66 cm Provenance: Acquired in 1903 by Mr. J.H.M. The back and seat with green velvet button padding upholstery and resting on seven legs with chamfered corners. 85x165x115 cm Provenance: Acquired in 1903 by Mr. J.H.M. An oakwood armchair, executed by ‘t Binnenhuis, Amsterdam. The armrests with vertical bars, the overall with renewed and damaged kilim upholstery. Marked at the bottom of the chair. The coat of arms depicted on the upholstery of the back is known to be the family-crest of Mr. Van Havelaar. In this design the sloped back makes a swift line with the back legs, inspired by ancient Egyptian chairs, as seen by Berlage in the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. 110x66x70 cm Provenance: Mr. Van Havelaar (mentioned in the customer register of ‘t Binnenhuis), acquired in 1962 by the late husband of the present owner. €800 - €1,000
