Two offset prints after photographs and 1 multiple (test tube with coral sand in cardboard box) from the portfolio ‘Sandzeichnungen’. One print inscribed indistinctly, signed and dated in pencil ‘Ch. Wilp 74’ (lower left), the other print signed and dated in pencil ‘Joseph Beuys 1974’ (upper right) and with the Hauptstrom stamp, the multiple signed in pencil ‘Beuys’ and stamped (on top of the box). The photographs reproduced here were taken in 1974 in Diani on the Kenyan coast. They were taken by Charles Wilp and show drawings that Joseph Beuys drew in the sand, as well as the artist at his work. The ‘Sandzeichnungen’ portfolio was published in 1978 by Frey Verlag, Stuttgart, in an edition of 250 + XV copies. Literature: Jörg Schellmann, Joseph Beuys.
