Luxury Home Trends in the Pacific Northwest
With its rugged coastlines, towering mountains and ancient evergreens, the Pacific Northwest is nothing short of stunning. Luxury homeowners in the region look to incorporate the natural beauty of their surroundings in their houses, using architectural and design elements that work in concert with (and in some cases, incorporate) the environment. By combining sustainably sourced materials with modern rich color schemes, residents create spaces that manage to be both expansive and cozy, and allow the outdoors to take center stage. We spoke with Jamie Brakken, a Real Estate Broker with RSVP Brokers ERA in Western Washington state, to learn more about the current trends guiding luxury home design in the Pacific Northwest. Home builders capitalize on this by positioning new homes in the best possible spots to take advantage of mountain, ocean or lake views, and by building spacious, scenic all-season decks that allow people to step out and feel at one with the Great Outdoors at any time of year.
