course offers newcomers to the corrugated sector a sol- id foundation in the fundamentals of papermaking — the bedrock for good, corrugated sheets. For more than 50 years, the annual course curriculum has been continually updated to keep pace with changing technology. “This is the most comprehensive, four-day introducto- ry- to intermediate-level pulp and paper course in the in- dustry,” said Course Chair and Professor Emeritus of Paper Science & Engineering at North Carolina State University, Dr. Michael Kocurek. “The curriculum covers everything from the incoming wood and chips, pulp mill operations, chemical recovery, recycling, stock prep, paper machine operations, pulp and paper quality, and environmental topics.” Participants will gain a broad perspective exploring the entire pulping and papermaking process, increase their ability to contribute to improving box production, get per- sonalized answers to specific questions and operating problems, and learn how to interact more knowledgeably with suppliers, process engineers and operators, too. Re- view the course schedule for more information on the top- ics planned. This course is ideal for technical box plant profes- sionals, supervisors, suppliers, consultants, as well as non-technical personnel.
