Manager's Message by Enrique Contreras, CCM,CCE GM/COO
I can’t believe that 2025 has come and gone! It was a huge project, but the transformation of the old Mixed Grille to The Tavern was successfully completed and we have received many compliments on the atmosphere, menu and service. Chef Richard and his team are working on a new dinner menu for the Oak Room and we are looking forward to rolling that out very soon. As a reminder, our Annual Election is beginning, and all equity members will be receiving your ballots via USPS and through email – please don’t forget to vote for our new Board of Governors before our Annual Meeting on February 22nd. This month we will also start taking letters of intent for all out the Club’s standing committees. Please contact our Member Services Director, Eryn Urban at eurban@sevenoakscountryclub.com for information regarding our committees.
One of my personal goals for 2026 is to continue to provide the best service and quality products to our members. As our management team continues to improve, we will work together to accomplish these goals and provide an exceptional member experi- ence in all areas of the Club. Another one of our goals is to bring some fun, new member events, activities and experiences to our members. Keep in tune with our monthly newsletter, weekly email updates and our mobile app and club website for information on all of our upcoming events. Thank you again and on behalf of the entire staff of Seven Oaks Country Club, I would like to wish all of our members a very Happy New Year. We truly hope that your 2026 is filled with much health and hapiness.

The Seven Oaks Book Club
The Seven Oaks Book Club meets each month to discuss books on a reading list which is created by mutual consent of the Book Club members. All members of SOCC are invited to attend. Our selection for January is.. . The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
In 1950s Tehran, seven-year-old Ellie lives in grand comfort until the untimely death of her father, forcing Ellie and her mother to move to a tiny home downtown. Lonely and bearing the brunt of her mother’s endless grievances, Ellie dreams for a friend to alleviate her isolation. Luckily, on the first day of school, she meets Homa, a kind girl with a brave and irrepressible spirit. Together, the two girls play games, learn to cook in the stone kitchen of Homa’s warm home, wander through the colorful stalls of the Grand Bazaar, and share their ambitions of becoming “lion women.” But their happiness is disrupted when Ellie and her mother are afforded the opportunity to return to their previous bourgeois life. Now a popular student at the best girls’ high school in Iran, Ellie’s memories of Homa begin to fade. Years later, however, her sudden reappearance in Ellie’s privileged world alters the course of both of their lives. Together, the two young women come of age and pursue their own goals for meaningful futures. But as the political turmoil in Iran builds to a breaking point, one earth-shattering
betrayal will have enormous consequences.
“Reminiscent of The Kite Runner and My Brilliant Friend, The Lion Women of Tehran is a mesmerizing tale” (BookPage) of love and courage, and a sweeping exploration of how profoundly we are shaped by those we meet when we are young.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 28 th at 11:30am.
Please email Shannon Ericsson at jshannonericsson@bak.rr.com
to receive information on joining the meeting.
