VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR’S OFFICE A YEAR IN REVIEW 2025 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM RECAP
PARK DRINKING FOUNTAINS Three water fountains are being replaced within Village parks. One at Waterford has already been replaced with two remaining fountains to be completed in the Spring of 2026. WATERFORD RESURFACING PROJECT Asphalt patching, crack sealing, and thermoplastic marking maintenance occurred throughout the Waterford neighborhood. The project was completed in early November 2025. Project is currently underway, which includes the replacement and reinforcement of pedestrian bridges throughout the park. Together, these enhancements will create a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible destination where residents and visitors of all ages can relax, play, and connect. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2026, with a Grand Reopening celebration planned in Spring 2026 to unveil the revitalized Borse Memorial Community Park officially. CREEKSIDE PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - PHASE II The second phase of the Creekside Park Improvement BORSE MEMORIAL COMMUNITY PARK PHASE III Borse Memorial Community Park entered the exciting final phase of its three-phase redevelopment project this past May, marking a major milestone in the Village of Willowbrook’s continued investment in community spaces. The Village was awarded a $600,000 grant through the 2024 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program to help bring this transformative phase to life. Phase III will complete several highly anticipated features, including the pedestrian bridge, resurfaced walking paths, the new Veterans Memorial, a modern playground, an interactive splash pad, upgraded baseball fields, and a new pavilion designed for gatherings and events. TRAVERSE CITY HYDRANT REPLACEMENT Four fire hydrants throughout the Village were or are planned for replacement as part of this project. Two replacements have been completed and two additional replacements will occur by the end of November 2025. The two remaining replacements are being done in tandem with a water valve replacement project. CL17 REPLACEMENT The Village’s CL17 Analyzers were replaced and installed in September 2025. These devices continuously measure residual chlorine levels in the Village’s water supply to ensure water service remains safe throughout the Village. SAMPLE STATIONS Three water service sample stations were replaced and installed back in July 2025; these water sampling stations are installed at various points along the network's route to support water quality monitoring operations. WATERFORD AND WILLOW POND POUR IN PLACE Spot patching and sealing were performed on the Waterford and Willow Pond Park pour-in-place play surfaces; this project was also completed in July 2025.
