WELCOME BACK QUEENS! Ive gotten a lot more from yall since the rst round of questions. So let’s dig in! Kitty asks: Im not a dancer yet, but I want to become one. I’m just scared. Answer: Girl, just go for it. Put your big girl boots on and do it! If there’s something holding you back, give thought as to what and if you can overcome it, then do it! The hardest part is the first stage set, and the first dance. It’s all down hill from there. Cheyenne asks: how do I know what guys will like me? Answer : that can definitely be challenging. It takes time to find your set audience. Trial and error. But also, I always say, talk to everyone. I had a guy that I swore hated me, spend sooo much!!
Mavis asks: Im more of the Gothic type, sometimes I think I scare men. Answer : GOOD! We need to scare men occasionally. Are we really women if we don’t terrify them?! Stick to your persona, you stand apart from everyone else! Chantel Marie asks : I think our DJ hates me. I ask to be bumped up on rotation or sometimes I need to be skipped to make money and he never does! I’m really nice to him. Help! Answer: MONEY! That’s always the answer. Anytime I needed anything from the DJ I approached him with money. Take care of who takes care of you!! You’ll be surprised how much you can get with a tip. Mona asks: what if we are new and don’t know how to give a dance? I never get repeat dances. I don’t know what I’m doing. FML Answer : So at my club I get you a “sister”. Thats an experienced
dancer that shows you how to do all that. Another good idea is to watch vids online. Check out your states laws as to how you can give a dance. Tee asks: Theres a guy that comes to the club in a wheelchair. I think he likes me but I don’t know how to give a dance to him. Answer : right in his chair! Take him to the vip, back him into the wall and get down! Daisy asks: Why do these girls not know how to work sections! These new girls get on my nerves! Answer : you were new at one time too. Maybe say something to management. Or teach her! Pull her to the side, be for her, what no one was for you. That’s all I got this week! I’m off to Vegas for Expo! Remember 1. Hi Ladies! My name is Kelly Johnson. Formerly known as Heaven. I used to be a dancer, from 1998-2016. I worked at Platinum Plus in Memphis, then after it closed in 2008, I started at the Pony, which is THE best club in Memphis. Along the journey I was in multiple publications and
acquired a couple “Best in..” awards.
Due to health reasons, I retired and became a Housemom at the Pony. Within a year and a half I was awarded one of the highest honors in our industry, (Employee of the year for Housemom) from the amazing folks at ED. It’s like the Oscars of our industry. I quickly moved up to GM and now run one of the Pony clubs. With the help (and patience) of Jerry Westlund and Stephanie Wilbanks, I’m learning and growing more and more.
I’ve turned so many girls into champions, hopefully my tips will help you.
