CITYWEST APARTMENT – CAIRN HOMES
The Awards were set up to recognise those who contributed to the design and construction of some of the most forward-thinking and innovative builds in Ireland. Designed by McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects and recently acquired by Carysfort Capital, this bold new architecture presents a new vision for city living. As well as completing mechanical installation work for this prestigious project, Gaffney Mechanical are proud to have won the contract for the ongoing maintenance on this Dublin landmark development, which includes maintenance of the heat recovery and ventilation units, heat interface units, gas boilers, air conditioning units, CHP and pumps and smoke shaft extraction maintenance. LIDL BALLYMUN STUDENT ACCOMMODATION - WALLS CONSTRUCTION Installation of mechanical services to the 365 bedroom student accommodation blocks was a mammoth task but it delivered great rewards for Gaffney Mechanical Ltd. Project Manager, Eamon McKeown and the rest of the team were tasked with a full supply and install of mechanical works into a congested city site. The package of works consisted of soils and waste, low pressure hot water district heating system, plumbing to communal toilets and kitchens and 365 bedroom pods, Daikin air conditioning units, supply and extract ventilation including fire dampers and fire smoke dampers to the ground and first floor communal areas and gym along with mechanical and natural smoke extract systems. A Tridium Building Management System was installed to control all the pumps and valves
Citywest Apartment
Under the careful guidance of Project Managers Michael Solan and Gareth Mulvany, Gaffney Mechanical have completed mechanical installation works on this Cairn Homes PLC prestigious development at Citywest. The scheme consists of 294 apartments, 123 house and 42 duplex units, a créche and residents’ communal space.
Works included the installation of a District Heating System, MVHR
ventilation system, gas boilers and super efficient CHP Units to the plant room. Thank you to all our colleagues and suppliers on this job who include: Ethos Engineering, Hevac Limited, Danfoss, Vent-Axia and Glenergy Ltd. WOODWARD SQUARE - WALLS Gaffney Mechanical have recently commenced with mechanical installation works on 160 apartments for Walls Construction Limited and O’Connor Sutton Cronin.Woodward Square is an exciting development of apartments and 5,000 sq ft amenity space situated in the historic and iconic location at Glencairn Gate. Future residents will enjoy high quality, energy efficient living with excellent transport links. Watch this space for ongoing updates as this project takes shape. SIX HANOVER QUAY – MECHANICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT Six Hanover Quay is another landmark project that Gaffney Mechanical were proud to collaborate with Cairn Homes on and this development won the prestigious Housing Project of The Year Award at the Building Architecture of the Year Awards 2019.
