It’s the perfect time to learn something new, and St. Thomas Public Library is here to help! Supporting Students Students of all ages can find valuable resources at the library. As projects and essays begin to pile up, don’t forget to explore our collection for books that support your assignments. While online research is often the starting point, books can provide reliable information and strengthen your research. You’ll find resources for every age, from our juvenile non-fiction collection for younger students to teen and adult non-fiction for high school and post-secondary learners. If we don’t have the book you need, our interlibrary loan service can often borrow it from another library, provided you have enough time before your assignment is due. Your library card also gives you free access to online research databases, including Canadian Reference Centre, Explora Canada, Explora Children, and Primary Search. These trusted resources offer articles, reference books, magazines, photos, and maps, making them a great alternative to a general internet search. Introducing students to these databases early helps build strong research habits that will benefit them throughout their education!

Many learning paths even include certificates! You can also explore Gale Courses, which provide instructor-led classes with a more structured learning experience.
