letter from the Chair

Dear Friends of FTEF,

A final piece of the puzzle with the opening of our brand-new Johnson Elementary. A celebration of our 20-year existence with a gala. The return of our annual dance. An all-time record amount given towards teacher grants. What a year it has been for the Fort Thomas Education Foundation (FTEF)! And what a wonderful time to be asked to represent you in meeting the needs of our schools, our world-class administrators, teachers, and students. Since its inception, The Fort Thomas Education Foundation has strived to be the link between the vision of Fort Thomas Independent Schools (FTIS) and the community. Our goal is to raise funds to help make the vision of FTIS a reality. As your current Chair, I have the honor of assembling incredibly talented and hard-working people in the community. These volunteers strive to rally our donor community to make our Fort Thomas academic experience second to none! As we plan for the 2022-2023 school year, we are asking everyone to consider “What is your Why?” Why are Fort Thomas public schools important to you? Why is it important to support the innovations being launched from our administration? Why is it important to encourage our students to dream big and know they have the community support to chase those dreams? As you consider the things that are important to you, we hope you will join us in contributing to make these visions become a reality - these things that have always made Fort Thomas public schools excellent. Thank you for all you have done, and are doing, to support our shared mission of enhancing educational excellence of public schools in Fort Thomas!

Sincerely, Dustin Buecker FTEF Chair 2021-2023

Tradition never graduates We are dedicated to offering our HHS Alumni with opportunities to gather and connect, whether here in Fort Thomas or virtually where you live. Just because we’ve left the Nest doesn’t mean we don’t still share a passion for Highlands and each other. Check out our website and social media pages to stay in touch. Make sure we have your updated information so you can receive our bi-annual Newsletter and get other important updates on what’s happening around the Nest.

Foundation club Foundation Club was pretty much back to normal for the 2021-2022 football season. Membership included reserved parking, private entry to the games, covered viewing and a complimentary pre-game meal which included our inaugural Taste of Fort Thomas theme. We are so thankful for all the families that chose to cheer on the Birds with us last season. Not only do you help raise important money for our schools and students, but we have a good time too.
