Tech Tips: • Combo recipes are created for variety compatibility of cultural requirements and vigor. • Use a high lime potting medium with low alkalinity irrigation water. Keep substrate pH at 6.0–6.4 for zonal geraniums and 5.8–6.2 for interspecific geraniums. • Feed early and consistently with 200 - 250 ppm N using a 14-4-14, 15-5-15 or 17-5-17 fertilizer. • Start growing warm – day 70–74 °F (21–23 °C) and night 64–70 °F (18–21 °C) for the first four to six weeks, then lower to an average daily temperature of 63 ˚F (17 ˚C) for the final weeks of production. 1.5 - 3.0 Gallon Pots: • Spray Florel ® late in propagation at 350 ppm and again 10 days after transplant to improve branching. • Growth can be controlled using sprays of Altercel ® (1,000 ppm) or under hot conditions with a tank mix of B-Nine ® / Altercel ® (2,500/1,000 ppm). • Hang baskets early in production, or space containers five weeks before finishing; timely spacing is critical. • Before shipping, spray Chrysal Alesco ® to protect from ethylene and extend retail shelf life.
