In Appreciation of Our Members

There are many things I’m proud of at ABNB, but what means the most to me is the trust our members place in us. It’s something that must be earned, and it’s a responsibility we take seriously. Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve more than 76,000 members that choose ABNB as their financial partner. It’s truly a privilege to serve you and your family, your business, and your financial goals. I know many individuals, families, and businesses continue to face economic uncertainty. Rising costs and everyday financial pressures can make it harder to plan for what’s today, let alone what’s next. During times like these, I believe having a trusted financial partner matters more than ever. Our ongoing commitment is to make sure ABNB continues to provide the guidance, solutions, and personal support you need to create financial opportunities and move forward with confidence. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing the incredible things our members accomplish. Whether you’re buying a home, saving for the future, growing a business, or reaching a personal milestone, your perseverance and ambition are inspiring. ABNB recently had the opportunity to celebrate one of our business members, Ollie’s Pies, as they reached an exciting milestone in their growth entrepreneurial journey. Watching a local business pursue a family’s dream, create jobs, and invest back into our neighborhoods is a powerful reminder of why our work matters. When our members succeed, our communities are stronger because of it. I’m also excited about what’s ahead for ABNB. This fall, we’ll welcome members and staff from two new branch locations in Roanoke Rapids and Louisburg, North Carolina. As we grow into new areas, my focus remains the same as it’s always been: building strong relationships, delivering dependable service, and helping more members achieve their goals.

Beyond our branches, I’ve been especially proud to see ABNB employees giving their time throughout Hampton Roads and North Carolina this summer. From helping young adults prepare for job interviews to supporting local nonprofits, these efforts reflect something I believe deeply: strong communities are built when neighbors show up for one another. One of the highlights of the year for me was seeing so many members vote for ABNB in Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Best Of Readers’ Choice Awards. Earning Silver recognition for both Best Credit Union and Best Financial Institution on the Southside is an honor, but what means the most is knowing that our nominations came from the members we serve every day. Thank you for your membership. Thank you for your trust. And thank you for allowing ABNB to be part of your story. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
