A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 9
It has been a busy week for Year 9. We started with the introduction of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in Monday’s assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Year 9 students to embrace something different and challenge themselves to learn some new skills.
Congratulations to 9SSA, 9FCO and 9EMU who had received the most e-praise points this week. Keep up the good work!
Please note that students do not need to attend school on Monday as we have a staff marking and moderation day. Christmas is approaching fast and on Saturday 7 December, we will be holding a Christmas tree sale. Christmas trees of various sizes will be on offer and payment can be made online via ParentPay. More details to follow. Please can I remind students and parents that our uniform policy states that make up should not be worn and that hair must of a natural colour. Please can parents be vigilant, particularly with the use of mascara. Many thanks for your support with this.
Finally, a reminder that school is closed to students on Monday 25 November for a staff training day.
MRS MORTIMER, HEAD OF YEAR 9
BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘The Agathas’ - Kathleen Glasgow & Liz Lawson
A dramatic and intriguing detective thriller, The Agathas focuses on two girls; Alice Ogilvie, an amateur (but stubborn) detective and Iris Addams, a super-smart girl with plenty of trouble on her mind. They’re pulled together suddenly when one of their town’s most popular girls, Brooke Donovan, disappears one stormy night after a party- and it seems that everyone is chasing after the wrong guy. With the police being as lazy as possible and missing some real big clues, it’s time for them to spring into their first case! Really good for anyone who loves an absolutely thrilling modern mystery.
