Our Final Year Adventure on Primary

YEAR SIX

This is our final year of Primary school, and one of the most exciting things was our 3-day camp at Forest Edge. We travelled there and back by bus. Forest Edge is an adventure camp with lots of fun activities like sports, arts, and challenges that helped us build confidence and make new friends. We got to try the low ropes course, the flying fox, and other activities that pushed us to challenge ourselves in a new setting. The camp also gave us leadership opportunities and helped us grow as a team. We’re looking forward to making great memories on this last big adventure before moving on to Secondary school. - Levi B & Ava F

TERM 1 The Year 6 students focused on understanding and investigating the concept of melting and the factors that affect this process. They observed and experimented with ice in different scenarios — in their hands, in a cup, in their mouth, and with salt — and recorded their findings in tables. Additionally, our Year 6 student leaders attended the GRIP Leadership Conference on Tuesday, 4th March, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. They learned about leadership, teamwork, and how to make a positive difference in their school community. Their enthusiasm and ideas for change were inspiring, and it was exciting to see them take these lessons forward. TERM 2 The Year 5/6 Camp to Forest Edge was a memorable experience. Students participated in a wide range of team-building activities, including the flying fox, archery, initiative games, and low ropes. They challenged themselves, encouraged one another, and created lasting memories. Whether cooking damper around the campfire or tackling new adventures, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude throughout the Term.

TERM 3 During Term 3, students researched and prepared Inquiry projects on a topic of their choice. They developed their oral presentation skills, confidently sharing their findings with classmates. Throughout the process, they demonstrated creativity, knowledge, and collaboration, producing projects they were proud to showcase. TERM 4 In Term 4, students prepared for their Graduation Ceremony and participated in Transition Week on the Secondary campus, gaining a glimpse of their next stage of learning. They also enjoyed an end-of-term celebration at Funfields, marking a fun and rewarding conclusion to their Year 6 journey.
