Primary Interschool Sports

PRIMARY SPORT

Yet another year has flown by and once again The Lakes Primary students have had several successes in their quest for sporting glory! Starting in Term 1 we had our boys Basketball team finishing Runners Up in the weekly Friday morning competition. Other Friday morning sports in Term 1 included Cricket and Soccer. Term 2 Friday Mornings involved more team sports including Netball, Handball and AFL, although we did not finish top two in these, our students still played to the best of their abilities and represented our College humbly each week. Term 3 Friday mornings brought some more success to our school, with our girls Volleyball team finishing second and our boys Volleyball team finishing undefeated premiers! Other sports included Tennis and Tee Ball. We also had several individual successes in both Athletics and Cross Country, with Axel and Miah making it through to the division round of Cross Country, and Jerusha, Kyle, Georgina, Siena and Ajay making it through to division finals in various Athletics events! Well done team!

Gala Days also proved popular amongst our students, competing in a range of sports including, Tee Ball, Tennis, girls AFL, boys Netball and Volleyball. Congratulations to our Boys B Volleyball team, who finished Runners Up on the day! Our 3/4’s also joined in the fun, getting involved in Hooptime, Soccer and a Cricket gala day. These events are based around fun, trying something new and are a great first step into the world of 5/6 sport. To all the students and teachers involved in 2025’s world of Primary Sport, thanks for your participation, enthusiasm and enjoyment.

I hope we are all looking forward to what 2026 Primary Sport brings!
