Exciting New Opportunities

YEAR SEVEN

TERM 3 Term 3 included celebrations and milestone events that brought the Year 7 cohort together. Students marked 100 days of Year 7 with fun dress-ups, engaging activities, and a memorable photo with the Prep students. These celebrations fostered a sense of community and reflection, giving students a chance to appreciate how far they had come. Alongside the celebrations, they continued with classroom learning, group projects, and skill-building exercises that encouraged collaboration, creativity, and leadership. TERM 4 In Term 4, students reflected on their first year of Secondary school and celebrated their growth and achievements. They participated in end-of-year activities, including sports days, excursions, and special assemblies, enjoying the warmer weather and the opportunity to spend time with friends. Students completed final projects and assessments, demonstrating their learning and personal growth over the year. Many looked forward to holiday plans, while others felt proud to transition to Year 8. Overall, Term 4 was a period of reflection, celebration, and preparation for the year ahead.

This year, Year 7 has been full of exciting opportunities and unforgettable experiences. Early in the year, students proudly represented the school in inter-school Volleyball, enjoying the chance to compete and build team spirit. Throughout the year, we took part in a range of excursions, including visits to Whittlesea Tech School and the Melbourne Museum, which added depth and fun to our learning. One of the most memorable experiences was our three-day camp at Phillip Island — a fantastic opportunity to make new friendships and bond as a year level. Another highlight was our very first Performing Arts Showcase, where students showcased their talents and creativity. The standout moment of the year was without a doubt our Freaky Friday production. While it was definitely exhausting, it was an incredible experience that brought everyone together and created lasting memories. As we look ahead to the end of the year, we’re excited for our upcoming excursion to Funfields and one last visit to the Whittlesea Tech School — the perfect way to finish off an amazing Year 7 journey. - Logan M & Lachlan C

TERM 1 The first Term of Secondary School marked an exciting beginning for our Year 7 students. They settled into new routines, met their teachers and classmates, and adapted to the challenges of high school life. Students focused on developing study habits, building friendships, and familiarising themselves with the school environment. It was a Term of transition, growth, and establishing a positive start to their secondary school journey. Term 2 In Term 2, students participated in a range of engaging learning experiences beyond the classroom. Year 7 and 8 students visited the Melbourne Museum to explore Indigenous culture and the Melbourne Story, gaining insights into history, traditions, and local heritage. Year 7 also attended their camp to Phillip Island, where they participated in outdoor activities, team-building exercises, and experiential learning. These experiences allowed students to strengthen friendships, build resilience, and connect classroom learning with real- world contexts.
