What’s Going On, Boston? 3 Events Happening This Month

As we quickly approach the holiday season and prepare for colder weather, there are a handful of fun and exciting events you and your family can participate in. This month, you can embrace the final full month of fall by walking around one of Boston’s most famous gardens, learning more about comics and photography at a free art tour, or catching a hockey game. Here are three of our favorite events the whole family can do this November. Boston Public Garden 6 a.m.–11:30 p.m. 4 Charles Street Boston.gov/Parks/Public-Garden Established in 1837, the Boston Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America, and it has some of the most eye-catching plants, lagoons, monuments, and fountains. This month, you and your family can enjoy the last bits of autumn by walking around the

Victorian-style garden. As you walk through, you’ll see the breathtaking scenery of yellow, red, and orange leaves reflecting across the lagoon. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the moment and even take family photos while you’re out there. Free Sunday Docent Tours Sept. 25–Dec. 4 2 p.m.–3 p.m. McMullen Museum of Art, Boston College If you’re looking for something to do on Sundays, look no further! Join the McMullen Museum of Art every Sunday for FREE guided, in-person tours of their latest fall exhibits. If you’re a fan of comics and their history, visit the American Alternative Comics, 1980-2000: Raw, Weirdo, and Beyond exhibit. With over 120 works showcased, you’ll have a chance to view 2101 Commonwealth Ave. BC.edu/Sites/ArtMuseum/

original works, printed comics, and more. You can also visit the Arnie Jarmak: Photographing Chelsea in Transition, 1977-89 exhibit. Observe over 80 photographs Jarmak took that display some of the fundamental social changes he witnessed while living in Chelsea. Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes Nov. 25 TD Garden Although baseball season is over and we must patiently wait for the upcoming season, there is another sporting event you can watch this fall and winter — hockey. So, instead of going Black Friday shopping or beginning to decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving, you can cheer on the Boston Bruins as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes. 100 Legends Way TDGarden.com
