Accenture report 2018 In the US: • 29% of disabled people (of working age – 16 to 64) employed, compared with 75% non-disabled • Unemployment rate for disabled people 9.2% compared with 4.2% • There’s 15.1 million disabled people of working age • Opportunity for access to a talent pool of more than 10.7 million people

In Ireland: • 37% of disabled people (of working age – 16 to 64) employed, compared with 73% of non-disabled. • Ireland’s rate of employment amongst people with disabilities is half the European average • The gap between the employment rate of people with and without disabilities was second widest in the EU • 38% of disabled people were at risk of poverty • For every €1 spent on direct income supports for disabled people (e.g., disability allowance) only 2.4c spent on employment supports
