Tension is not something to avoid. It’s something to embrace.
I n the energy sector, tension is our constant companion. Between legacy systems and future ambitions. Between security and sustainability. Between short-term pressures and long-term progress. For years, these forces were seen as contradictions. But the stories we’ve gathered in this issue reveal something different. They show that tension can become a powerful source of momentum. From culture transformations and brand reinventions, to tangible technologies reshaping our infrastructure, this issue captures a sector in motion. We hear from changemakers who are bridging divides—between internal culture and external promise, between technological complexity and human connection. Leaders who are not waiting for perfect conditions, but instead moving forward with clarity, resilience, and trust. Take Höegh Evi, whose rebrand reflects the dual role of energy provider and clean energy pioneer. Or OneSubsea, who didn’t shy away from cultural complexity in a major joint venture but instead used it as a design input to build alignment. Or the CHARGE Rising Stars redefining what energy leadership looks like—with optimism, grit, and the belief that clarity of mission can cut through the noise. These examples remind us that progress doesn’t come from erasing contradictions. It comes from navigating them with intent. So as we close this third issue of the Energy Magazine, I’ll leave you with one question: how will you turn these industry tensions into a driver of opportunity? Fortune favors the brave.
