The key competencies are then further divided into 34 subject- level areas. Each of these have learning objectives that are defined at four levels of engagement, namely fundamental, analytical, strategic and innovative, using the curriculum development model known as Bloom’s Taxonomy. Faculty members use the levels as a guide to ensure there is a sufficient degree of alignment between the content and the level of student learning required by the programme. For example, the key competency of futures thinking contains the subject-level theme of corporate social responsibility (CSR) trends and scenarios. This considers the long-term consequences of planetary and societal issues impacting business and may include such topics as

an innovative project called SDG Inside, based on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative takes a unique competencies framework and change management approach to integrate the UN’s goals into all the courses taught at the school. The SDG competency framework is composed of seven key competencies. These cover technical skills in the form of systems thinking, futures thinking, strategic thinking and implementation. They also cover interpersonal skills in the categories of self-awareness and collaboration, as well as a critical reflection on the pro-social mindset needed to develop healthy and safe communities, environments and economies in the category of values thinking.
