Guided by Expertise This workshop series was created in partnership with Harvard professor Dr. Karen L. Mapp. She has spent over 25 years researching the cultivation of partnerships among families, community members, and educators to support student achievement and school improvement.

Meet Dr. Mapp Karen L. Mapp, Ed.D., is a Professor of Practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). From 2011 to 2013, she served as a consultant in the development of the first version of the Dual Capacity- Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships. Dr. Mapp is also the author and co-author of several articles and books about family engagement, including Everyone Wins!: The Evidence for Family-School Partnerships and the Implications for Practice (2022).
