Training programme Capsticks’ broad range of practice areas and clients enables it to provide its trainees with an opportunity to experience a wide variety of legal work. Trainees rotate every six months undertaking seats in the firm’s practice areas, which include clinical law, housing, employment, real estate, commercial, litigation and regulatory. Trainees are therefore able to acquire an in-depth knowledge of both the law and the health, social care and housing sectors, in addition to developing the skills that any good lawyer needs. Where possible, we qualify our trainees after 18 months if they have prior paralegal experience that can form part of their period of recognised training. This is a real attraction for our trainees. Sponsorship For those who have not already completed their GDL (if applicable) and LPC, Capsticks will pay the course/qualification provider directly. Funding for this training is structured in the following way: 50% of the total course registration and examination fees will be paid by the firm; and the remaining 50% of course registration and exam fees will be paid by the firm as an interest-free career loan up to a total value of £10,000 repayable in monthly instalments from the trainee’s salary upon commencement of employment.
