Types of work Civil liberties and human rights, criminal defence, employment, family law, wills and probate, medical negligence, personal injury, dispute resolution, housing and property, serious fraud, industrial disease, public law and court of protection. Who should apply Applications from both law and non-law graduates are welcome. You should be able to demonstrate a consistently high level of academic and personal achievement. We generally expect an upper second class degree. The firm is looking for people who: Communicate clearly and effectively; Have an excellent academic record; Can demonstrate they are interested and committed to the work the firm does; Are hard-working and dedicated; Understand and share the ethos of the firm; and Have a record of achievement in extracurricular activities Training programme Trainees have a full induction on joining Hodge Jones & Allen covering the work of the firm’s main departments, procedural matters and professional conduct. Training consists of four six-month seats. Formal reviews of progress are held at least once during the seat. The training is well structured and the trainees have the benefit of a mentoring scheme. The firm provides good clerical support so trainees can concentrate on legal work rather than administration. The firm has an excellent IT infrastructure and continues to invest heavily in IT to keep pace with innovation.
