The firm Lee Bolton Monier-Williams is a long established law firm with modern values, based in the heart of Westminster but with a client base spread across the UK and internationally. We act for companies, individuals and businesses across a wide range of sectors with a particular focus on charities, education, real estate, private client and landed estates, wine and spirits, IP and retail. Types of work Our private client teams advise individuals and businesses on all wealth management and personal matters from wills, trusts and estates to tax planning and family issues. Our real estate team deal with all aspects of commercial and residential property including development projects, joint ventures, sales and acquisitions, finance, asset management and property disputes. Our leading EEC (education, ecclesiastical and charity) team acts for numerous well known charities, schools and institutions across a range of highly complex and important projects. Our corporate and commercial team advises all kinds of business including start-ups, family companies, schools and well known large corporations on all aspects of the commercial life-cycle from incorporation to M&A, compliance, IP and corporate restructuring. Our employment team advises businesses and individuals on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters including work place disputes, restrictive covenants, dismissals and TUPE. Our dispute resolution team advise on a range of range of contentious matters including contract and commercial disputes, property disputes, trust and family disputes and IP disputes. Who should apply We are looking for trainees with a good degree (2.1 or above) in law or non-law subjects, who are highly motivated and have first- class communication skills. We expect our trainees to have a genuine interest in the law and what we do, to be professional, enthusiastic and to have a sense of humour. Training programme Trainees spend six months in our four main departments – private client, dispute resolution, real estate and education and charity. From the outset our trainees are given responsibility for their own work and have immediate contact with clients and other senior fee earners. Working alongside a senior lawyer or partner, trainees receive mentoring and support throughout the training contract. Trainees play a pivotal role in small teams where expectations are high.
