Training programme Jurisdictional differences require that the structure of our training contracts vary but there are a number of things which will remain constant: You will receive compulsory regulatory and complementary skills training which is developed and delivered by a blend of internal and external experts, ensuring the highest quality and greatest relevance to your development. You will be encouraged to get involved wherever the opportunity presents itself, be that on a specific deal or transaction, or with a particular client. Seat allocations are managed by our graduate development team, taking account of trainees’ preferences whilst aiming to strike the balance with the needs of the firm and our clients. You will be supervised by an experienced senior colleague; on hand to facilitate learning and advancement. When and how to apply UK – Deadline for training contract applications is 24 July 2020 to begin 2021 or 2022. Applications are made using our online application form. Candidates are screened using a pre-determined framework ensuring a fair and consistent approach. Adopting a contextualised approach to our applications means we can consider applicants, taking account of their individual achievements and the circumstances under which these have been attained. Work placements We offer vacation placements in the UK’s three jurisdictions and in the Republic of Ireland. Our vacation placement offers you a valuable insight into the culture of the firm and the work that we do. You will be welcomed into the business, gaining a real understanding and appreciation of what it’s like to be a trainee at Pinsent Masons. Our placements vary from two to four weeks depending on jurisdiction and full details are available on our graduate website. Sponsorship Fees for GDL, LPC, IPLS, Diploma and PPC1 & 2. A maintenance grant is available for those qualifying in England and Wales (where possible given the timing of recruitment) and those qualifying in Scotland. Those qualifying in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will be employed whilst completing their post-graduate studies and will be paid a salary.
