Who should apply You’re a bright and proactive individual, with a real commercial awareness, who is keen to develop and learn through their training contract. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, able to think independently, but above all dedicated to a career in law and making a difference for their clients through effective client relationships. Ideally you would hold a 2.1 degree, have already completed your LPC or have a course underway; you may have even completed the GDL/CPE (if applicable). We are open to applicants who have a 2.2 degree if you have paralegal experience. What you need to demonstrate is that you grasp facts well, and can work out effective solutions quickly. If you think that you fit the bill, we’re keen to hear from you. Training programme We operate a structured two-year training contract split into four six-month seats. You can expect to gain experience within at least three different practice areas, with a balance of contentious and non contentious work types. You are likely to work in a number of our offices, which means you’ll benefit from working in different environments with different colleagues. You will gain hands-on experience and responsibility from day one and you will get exposure to partners, associates and solicitors alike to help you to develop the skills, setting you up for a great career in law. You will get to work with a diverse client base with support from a dedicated supervisor who will hold regular 1:1’s, providing you with feedback to help you gain the exposure and skills you need to be a successful Thrings solicitor. You will get the opportunity to attend training courses and events that are relevant to your career.
