There are a number of reasons a woman may develop functional or aesthetic issues with the external vagina including normal aging, genetics, and child bearing. Labiaplasty can be performed under general anesthesia or sedation depending on patient preference. There are two main techniques in labiaplasty surgery — the trim and the wedge technique. Our surgeons are trained in both techniques and utilize the technique best suited for a particular patient's anatomy and goals. Postoperatively, patients should expect up to a week of downtime.
