NEUROMODULATORS

Neuromodulators are one of the most commonly performed aesthetic treatments worldwide. They are incredibly popular because of their fantastic efficacy, fast action, and zero downtime. Treatments are performed during a 15-30 minute appointment and the patient can resume normal daily activities immediately afterward. Calospa offers three neuromodulator treatment options: Botox ® , Dysport ® and Jeuveau ® . Many people begin their aesthetic journey by receiving a neuromodulator treatment to soften wrinkles and fine lines on the UPPER FACE . Popular areas to treat include the frontalis (forehead), the glabellar complex (angry 11’s), and the lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet). Neuromodulators cause a temporary relaxation of the facial muscles that cause these wrinkles. Results generally last 3-4 months. The LOWER FACE was not considered for treatment with neurotoxin for many years, but providers began noticing that the lower face “deteriorated” in relation to the upper face in patients who received only upper face toxin. Now, the lower face is commonly treated to give the best global result. Areas of treatment of the lower face include the LLS (to correct a gummy smile), perioral lip lines (smokers lines), enlarged masseters (due to clenching/grinding), mentalis (or chin muscle), DAO (the muscle that pulls down the corners of the mouth), and platysmal bands on the neck. In addition, neurotoxins can be used to treat excessive sweating (on the face, armpits, hands, and feet), and can be mixed at a higher dilution and injected superficially to decrease pore size and give an overall smoothness to the skin. Our expert injectors can also use neuromodulators to help balance facial asymmetries, and mildly elevate the eyebrows. Your provider will help to decide which product is best for you based on your anatomy and treatment goals.
