AMBA & BGA EXCELLENCE AWARDS 

C Congratulations on winning the MBA Start-up of the Year 2023 award. How did it feel to win and what impact has it made on your career? “I’m very happy and proud to have won this award. It is recognition for something I have carried with me for 10 years since my EMBA – the combination of an entrepreneurship project with a search for something that will help to protect marine ecosystems and prevent them from becoming blue deserts. I am sure that this award will open a lot of doors for my company, but mostly I hope that it will raise awareness of the need to protect our oceans.” Can you provide some background on your career to date? “I am an engineer with a degree from École des Mines de Paris. I then completed an EMBA at Audencia Business School. For more than 20 years, I have been working in the maritime world and, for 10 years, I’ve been developing maritime cleantech products that are designed to reduce the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems. I also created the Handicap Travail Solidarité association and have chaired it for the past 10 years.” You won this award for Greenov, which aims to prevent the oceans from becoming blue deserts. What are the biggest challenges in the preservation of marine ecosystems? “Marine ecosystems are recognised as the cradle of human life, providing us with oxygen, climate regulation, food and medicine. However, human activities impact on our oceans in numerous ways and are destroying their source of life, as well as the beauty and richness of marine ecosystems. “Greenov works primarily on problems relating to underwater noise, the collision of cetaceans with vessels and biocide pollution, but our innovation lab addresses more than 10 issues in total in its creation of disruptive cleantech that is designed to allow human activities to become sustainable.”
