“The COIN framework allows us to get people and organisations with a range of expertise on board to find a solution that is vital for our oceans collectively. We all want to play our part in the challenge of ecological transition and COIN is an evidence- based and impactful approach in this crucial fight against time.” What motivated you to do an EMBA and why did you choose to do it at Audencia Business School? “As an engineer, I have a good technical background. I’m also accustomed to leading others and have more than 20 years of management experience. But managing and growing a company requires skills that I didn’t have. That’s why I needed to do an EMBA before jumping into the deep end of entrepreneurship. “I live in Nantes, France and this made the choice of Audencia easy, but its part-time EMBA programme was also one that met my needs and was compatible with my professional activity. In addition, I found a school with CSR values that aligned with my own.” What was your single favourite part of the programme? “As a lover of geostrategy and politics, I found much of interest in the corporate strategy courses. These classes also resonated strongly with my personal views and past experiences. You can be a great manager but if you don’t have a clear and regularly updated strategy, failure will lurk at your door.”
What are your aims and expectations for the scheduled 2024 launch of Greenov’s SubSea Quieter? “SubSea Quieter is an innovative membrane that reduces the underwater noise and turbidity generated by coastal and oshore works, including the construction of oshore wind turbines. “In 2024, we hope to finalise an actual-size demonstration of the system. Marketing will then come at the end of 2024 and in 2025 and, by 2027, we aim to lead the global noise mitigation system market. “By supplying the market with an efficient and low-cost system up to seven times cheaper than existing solutions, our overriding goal is to allow a greater proportion of companies that perform maritime works to use a noise mitigation system. This would bring about a real and impactful reduction of noise into our oceans.” Greenov uses collaborative innovation networks (COIN). Can you tell us more about this framework and why it is so useful in the context of societal and environmental issues? “It’s simply unfeasible for a small organisation – or even a large one – to gather all the great experiences and know-how required to develop solutions to the complex, multi-faceted issues that relate to underwater noise. They require huge and varied expertise. As such, innovations take longer to come into being, but species disappear every week and we do not have much time left to achieve a clear and full ecological transition.
