Senior School Higher Project Qualification (HPQ)

Academic scholars in Year 10 are being invited to complete a Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) over the next year. The qualification, that is equivalent to half a GCSE, is similar in format to the Extended Project Qualification that many of our Sixth Form pupils complete in Years 12 and 13. Pupils can choose to write an extended essay on a subject of their choice or produce an ‘ artefact ’ that is accompanied by a shorter essay. The subject of the HPQ can be almost anything, as long as it does not overlap with the content of their GCSE courses. These projects require pupils to reference their work correctly,

create a production log that details their workflow and, at the end, present their work to a group of their peers and teachers. It will be fascinating to see the range of subjects that our Year 10 pupils select and we look forward to reporting on their successes in the year to come.
