Hurricane Season Has Arrived AN INSURANCE SURVIVAL GUIDE

It’s that time of year again! In Florida, the Atlantic hurricane season spans from June 1 to Nov. 30. That means hurricane season isn’t knocking on our door, it’s already here! Time to stock up on water and canned foods, test out flashlights and batteries, and be sure to have first-aid kits and generators on standby. However, we’d like to remind you about a few things regarding your insurance policies to ensure you are squared away and ready for hurricane season. The last thing you want is to wait until after you have a loss to check your policy!

information on your homeowners insurance policy. Does your home have adequate coverage? Is your name and contact information correct on the policy? What disasters does your policy cover and not cover? Keep in mind that your home insurance policy does not have flood coverage. Flood insurance is usually a completely separate policy, and even if your home is not in a designated flood zone, we still urge you to carry flood insurance because just an inch of flooding can cause significant damage to your home and structure. If there’s one thing we know about hurricanes, it’s that they bring a lot of wind and rain. I encourage you to visit your insurance carrier’s website and set up a client account. With this access, you’ll have all of the important information and documents regarding your insurance available right at your fingertips. So, in an emergency situation, for example, if there’s ever an evacuation where you need to leave your home, or a power outage, and you’re not able to access your policy information, a client account will enable access from your cellphone!

First and foremost, review your coverage, deductibles, and mortgage

Many insurance carriers also include tips on hurricane preparation and walk you

through the ins and outs of how your hurricane deductible inside your policy operates. So, if you have yet to look through your

policy, now is a great time to become familiar with it and understand all of the resources available to you.

If you do ever have a claim after a hurricane, three important things to remember are:

“Because we live in Florida, we can never take the arrival of hurricane season lightly.”

Take photos of the damage.

• Protect your property from further damage. • Keep all receipts of repairs and expenses.

Because we live in Florida, we can never take the arrival of hurricane season lightly and assume everything will be okay. It’s always better to be overprepared than underprepared. Let us know if we can help in any way!

Did “Atomic Habits” by James Clear change your life in 2018? Was “Tiny Habits” by BJ Fogg one of your top books of 2019? AND GAIN LONG-TERM BUSINESS SUCCESS! Unlock Your ‘High Performance Habits’

How to Save on Your I Let’s Talk D

In Florida, as you’re likely aware, the cost of insurance is on the rise! This has a lot to do with the overwhelming number of claims submitted, the high frequency of litigation, and the increase in assignment of benefits fraud in the Sunshine State. Now, more than ever, discounts on your insurance policy are extremely helpful.

If you’ve read those two bestsellers, you’re a step ahead of most entrepreneurs. But you might still be sleeping on one of the original books on the power of habits, which is packed with gems you can’t find anywhere else: Brendon Burchard’s 2017 read “High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way.” Brendon Burchard is a legend in the world of personal development coaching. Oprah.com called him “one of the most successful online trainers in history,” and more than 2 million people have taken his online courses. But with the help of your local library, you can start learning his secrets to success without paying a cent. In “High Performance Habits,” Burchard recommends six specific habits that will help you reach your personal and business goals. He calls this the HP6 model.

We don’t see any sign of a decrease in premiums on the horizon, here are some tips and tricks on how to save!

Homeowners Insurance The age of your roof is now the key factor in pricing. The newer your roof is, the better your premium will be. If you haven’t had a wind mitigation inspection conducted yet and your roof was installed in 2002 or sooner, it’s a good idea to have this done. Did you know? If you have a monitored alarm system, you are able to send in your monitoring certificate in exchange for a discount! Also, if you are retired or live in a gated community, you may be eligible to receive a discount. Your credit counts! Because Florida is a fair credit reporting state, your credit score is important when it comes to obtaining a home loan or financing a car, and it can help to lower your insurance pricing. And

1. Seek clarity. 2. Generate energy. 3. Raise necessity. 4. Increase productivity. 5. Develop influence. 6. Demonstrate courage.

As you can see, these aren’t your basic healthy habits like “drink water” and “get eight hours of sleep”! Burchard calls the first three “personal habits” and the last three “social habits,” and in the book he uses real-life examples to explain each habit. He also offers daily exercises that will help you form them. It takes multiple keys to unlock each habit. For example, to demonstrate courage, Burchard says you must “share your truth and your ambitions” by telling someone about your goals every day. But that alone isn’t enough. To truly form the habit, you also need to reframe struggle and zero in on someone worth fighting for — whether that’s your team, your clients, or your children. “High Performance Habits” is a business book, but it’s also a personal development book. It will force you to dive deep into your strengths, weaknesses, and motivations to unlock your real high-performance potential. You can use it to fit more tasks into a day, increase your confidence, or become a better leader — whatever your business needs! Pick up a copy today to see why Andrew Burns of Medium calls this “the epitome of a book that needs more than one read.”

Insurance Policies Discounts about solar panels, it’s important to note a common misconception is that solar panels make homes eligible for insurance discounts. This is false! Auto insurance If you have a good driving record, clean of any tickets or accidents in the last five years, you are eligible for a discount. Obviously, if you are also claim-free, this helps to lower your premium.

We all know the feeling: Sometime after lunch, you become sluggish, spacy, and unproductive. Many of us instinctively turn to caffeine to power through the rest of the day, but that can cause another crash, not to mention sleep problems. But don’t worry — you aren’t doomed to an aimless afternoon. We’ve compiled expert tips to perk up and carry on with your busy day. Plan your work. All of our bodies have internal rhythms, and by now, you probably know yours. Typically, people peak mid-morning or in the late afternoon. But whenever your productive heights are, plan around them. Complete the detailed, creative, or difficult work during the times when your energy is at its best, and save your “busy work” or repetitive tasks for the lulls when you feel less motivated. You’ll feel better and get more done. Consume healthy foods and lots of water. Maybe you don’t have complete control of your schedule. That’s where a healthy snack comes in. We tend to crash in the afternoon when our blood sugar drops, usually due to consuming carbohydrates. Eating vegetables, fruit, and protein or fiber-rich foods will help pick up your energy without incurring a future dip. While you’re snacking, drink some water. A 2018 study out of Yale found that even mild dehydration can negatively affect our brains’ ability to function, so don’t let your water bottle sit untouched. Get up and move. You’re not going to get over that slump by sitting in your chair. If you want to beat back fatigue, go for a walk, climb some stairs, stretch, or do some jumping jacks. Researchers have proven that exercise wakes up both your body and your mind. In fact, science says it will do a better job of rousing you than caffeine will. Best of all, it will help, not hurt, your ability to sleep at night. Finally, set yourself up for success by going to bed at a reasonable hour and getting your necessary 7–9 hours of sleep. Our attention ebbs and flows naturally, so none of us can be our best 100% of the time. But along with these other tips, staying well-rested can help you pick up the pace. HOW TO BEAT YOUR AFTERNOON SLUMP No Caffeine Needed

Did you know? Your annual mileage driven affects your premium! If you are able to keep your mileage low, this helps you to save. Also remember that if you have any teen drivers on your insurance plan, discounts are offered for good grades and completing a safe driving course.

Lastly, most carriers offer paperless options that also qualify you for a discount, so be sure to look into that.

Here in Florida, part of the new reality is that insurance premiums are significantly higher than they have been in the past, and we have to keep planning accordingly. Let us know how we can help! Awareness and planning is the name of the game!

Fathers inspire us. They teach us right from wrong, help guide us through some of our most difficult decisions, and show us how to be good people. They witness our first steps, our first words, our first day of school, and even our first sporting event. Our dads are our role models, our heroes, and our biggest fans. Dads make fabulous coaches, excellent naptime buddies, and they are always down for tossing the football or baseball

around in the backyard. Our fathers teach us important life lessons and skills including how to grill, how to change a tire, how to use tools and be handy around the house, and how to drive. We look up to our dads as they are examples of great husbands, sons, friends, and coworkers. Our fathers teach us the value in time, a strong work ethic, and how to be successful in all we do. There is no better feeling than succeeding and having your dad there to share in the moment and to be proud of your accomplishment. Creating memories with your dad is special and unique — especially because what happens with Dad stays with Dad. He spoils you in your own way, allows you to have ice cream when Mom may have said no, and is the best protector, buddy, and best friend. Dads wear so many hats, are always there for us no matter what, and make every day better than the last. How great it is to have such great fathers in our lives! Even if they aren’t perfect, they love us best. To all of the dads out there, we hope you have a fabulous Father’s Day! Enjoy the day because you deserve it!
