ACCOUNTING

ROBIN OATRIDGE & CO. “At Robin Oatridge & Co. apprentices play a very important role within our firm. Each September, we take on a school or college leaver onto the AAT Apprenticeship scheme. We have worked alongside Preston College for a number of years now, as we believe in helping talented individuals develop into qualified and highly competent Accountants. Apprentices enjoy the support provided from their Preston College tutors whilst playing an active role within a thriving Accountancy office. Based in Bamber Bridge, not only do we provide traditional accounting services such as tax, accountancy, value added tax and payroll, we also offer advice for business start-ups, computer software and systems, tailored to each particular client’s needs. Apprentices will be involved in all areas of the business, allowing them to be fully competent if offered a promise of future employment. Continuous training is provided by both their work-based mentor and their college tutor. The AAT qualification is a strong grounding for any budding accountant and tied in with the on-the-job training that we offer, is a great stepping-stone to a successful career in accountancy. After completing the AAT qualification, we support staff in taking the next step in completing the ACCA qualification and becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant. Today, we have apprentices that work alongside other fully qualified staff members who started out just like them. There is no better proof of this than Paul Woodburn who started his working career at Robin Oatridge as an AAT apprentice studying at Preston College, before becoming ACCA qualified and a Director of the Practice.”

Alongside this, therapists have the confidence and support to give clients an amazing experience and work fabulously as a team. This course includes a variety of treatments and fantastic skills to set up therapists for a brilliant career in this industry. We strongly believe that apprenticeships are a fabulous way to begin your career, build confidence and gain experience in all aspects. Although I am the salon owner, I completed an apprenticeship myself when I did my qualifications and I found this gave me life changing skills that I still use daily. Due to this, apprenticeships will always have a special place in our hearts at Hilton Beauty Therapy and we value the opportunities they provide. We have always found great pleasure in working in partnership with Preston College who have recently shown outstanding attention to detail to our current apprentices by helping them grow and learn whilst ensuring they feel able and prepared. We couldn’t recommend the apprenticeship scheme more and are very enthusiastic about our future.”
