An apprenticeship in pharmacy, especially as a Pharmacy Services Assistant, is an exceptional opportunity to delve into the heart of healthcare and make a tangible impact on the wellbeing of others. As a Pharmacy Services Assistant, you will be at the forefront of patient care, ensuring that medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently, while also providing essential support to Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Additionally, our apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics, including pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, and medication counselling, ensuring that apprentices complete with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. Progression onto the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician is encouraged. Through this apprenticeship, you will gain essential knowledge in pharmaceutical science, medication dispensing, and patient interaction, preparing you for a pivotal role in supporting Pharmacists and ensuring accurate medication distribution. Additionally, you will develop skills in inventory management and pharmacy regulations, ensuring compliance and the safe delivery of healthcare services. Once the Level 3 is completed, you will be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Please note, for the Level 3 you will need to have achieved Pharmacy Services Assistant at Level 2, or have a GCSE at grade 4/C or above in science and experience within a pharmacy.
Under the mentorship and guidance of experienced Pharmacists and Pharmacy
Technicians, you will gain hands-on experience working in a real-life pharmacy setting, where you will learn the ropes of medication dispensing, inventory management, and customer service. From assisting patients with prescription enquiries to preparing medications according to strict protocols, apprentices develop a deep understanding of pharmacy operations whilst providing vital support to the healthcare team.
