Beaverdam has something for everyone with its 635 acre lake and acres of natural splendor. The park is open seven days a week, and is located in the central part of the county. Main Entrance: 8687 Roaring Springs Road Second Entrance: 9537 Fary’s Mill Road

OWLS & ALES December 20 | 4:30pm - 6:30pm | $5 | Beaverdam Park Main Entrance Step into the nighttime woods at Beaverdam Park’s Main Entrance for a guided hike in search of owls. As you listen closely and watch the trees, you may encounter some of the species commonly found in the area, including Barn Owls, Screech Owls, Great Horned Owls, and Barred Owls. After the hike, keep the evening going with a special treat from Gloucester Brewing Co., where they’ll be offering a special created in honor of these incredible birds. It’s the perfect way to combine nature, community, and a little local flavor! Deadline 12/15. HUG A TREE AND SURVIVE Thursday, February 12 | 5:30 - 6:30pm | Free | Stewart Building For ages 7-11. Hug a Tree and Survive was created many years ago after a tragic accident. This program teaches how to help yourself be found if you ever become lost. It includes info on how searchers look for you, how to stay dry and warm and how to be patient. Parents are welcome to stay for the presentation. Pre-Registration is Required! Deadline 2/9 Kick off the new year with an unforgettable experience at Beaverdam Park during Hoot & Howl Into 2026! Join us for a unique nighttime 5K where you’ll run or walk under the stars and celebrate alongside the park’s nocturnal wildlife. As you make your way through the trails, keep an eye — and ear — out for owls and other creatures that call Beaverdam home. Once you’ve completed the 5K, head back to the Ranger Station to claim your exclusive glow-in-the-dark event T-shirt as a keepsake of the adventure. Don’t miss out on this one- of-a-kind way to welcome 2026— Deadline 12/8.

PICTURES IN THE PARK December 13| Multiple Time Slots Available | $10 | Whitcomb Lodge Bring the whole family out to Beaverdam Park for a festive Holiday Photo Op with this year’s theme: Cozy Winter Lodge! After the event, we’ll email your pictures so you can use them for Christmas cards, gifts, or scrapbooks. Sessions are by registration only, with 10-minute appointments available between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

THE FULL HIKE 3rd Saturdays | $5 | 10:00am| Ranger Station | Registration Closes The Day Before For ages 16 and older. Beaverdam has beautiful trails where you can enjoy the flora and fauna of Gloucester. The Multi-use Trail runs from the park’s main entrance to the Fary’s Mill Road entrance. We will shuttle you to FMR and drop you off at the trail so that you can hike, self- guided, the approximately 9 mile hike. Hike is roughly 3 hours (at a 4 miles/hour pace). Take your time, take it all in, just be back to the Main Entrance by park closing time and check out at the Ranger Station. Dress for the weather and in sturdy shoes (no open toe, open back, slides or flip flops). Bring water, snacks/food and binoculars and camera if you like. The following Sunday will be the rain date. Please arrive at the Ranger Station at 9:45AM. Dates: December 20 January 17 February 21
