HISTORY Chulalongkorn University traces its roots all the way back to 1871, when King Chulalongkorn sought to improve Siam’s educational system as
part of wider plans to strengthen the country’s government so that it could resist the tide of colonialism. The initial school that was established in the Royal Pages Barracks was subsequently upgraded and extended, before being elevated to an institution of higher education, known as the Civil Service College, by King Vajiravudh in 1911. King Vajiravudh founded Chulalongkorn University in memory of his father in 1917. The business school stems from its Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy – the name ‘Chulalongkorn Business School’ was adopted along with a new logo when the faculty celebrated its 85th anniversary in order to raise its profile domestically and internationally.
COURSES The MBA portfolio at Chulalongkorn Business School consists of four
programmes. There are full-time and part-time options available to those with three or more years’ prior work experience, as well as an executive MBA for those aged over 30 and in possession of eight or more years’ experience.
