WILDCAT TERMINOLOGY: Meal Plan – students living in a residence hall are required to purchase a meal plan Dining Dollars – the money that is pre-loaded on a student’s Connection Card when they purchase a meal plan. Dining Dollars can be used at any on-campus dining location Wildcat Bucks – students can add Wildcat Bucks to their Connection Card, which is like CWU’s own currency. Wildcat Bucks can be used at any on-campus dining location, the Wildcat Shop, and select off-campus locations CAP – Course material Affordability Program Connection Card – the CWU student identification card MyCWU – the MyCWU account provides a one-stop portal for navigating CWU systems. Students can view their financial accounts, housing and academic information, class registration, and easily connect to platforms, such as Outlook, Inspire, and Canvas. It also links students to important campus resources in health and wellness services and parking Canvas – a virtual learning environment and course management system used by CWU students Outlook – CWU’s email communication platform Suitable – the platform that CWU Orientation uses to track a student’s attendance and activity completion at Week of Welcome Inspire – students can easily schedule appointments with advising, peer mentoring, tutoring, and more with Inspire. Advising communications can be read in both your Outlook email and your Inspire communication box, allowing you to see the messages that are important to your academics in two convenient locations University 101 – a course taken by first-year students that facilitates a smooth transition to CWU by promoting a sense of belonging and discovery, stimulating engagement in curricular and co-curricular activities, and connecting students to campus resources First Generation – a student whose custodial parent(s) or guardian(s) did not earn a 4-year degree Academic Advisor – an individual that works with students to provide information and resources regarding academic programs and quarterly course registration. Students with less than 45 credits must meet with an Academic Advisor before quarterly course registration Authorized User – students can authorize a third-party to access their financial account and speak with Student Financial Services department representatives on the student’s behalf Release of Information – students must complete this form to allow others to speak with department representatives on their behalf regarding specific topics. Topics include Academics, Admissions, Advising, Business Services, Billing, Disciplinary, Financials, Graduate Studies, Housing, and Recreation Sport Clubs Financial Aid – sources of money used to fund a student’s higher education or career school, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities Work-Study – a program that helps students with financial needs get on-campus, part-time jobs during college

Upload your photo via the GET app and pick up your Connection Card after 2:00 P.M. Visit our team at your convenience to get answers to all of your financial aid questions. Get information on available on-campus housing and dining locations, confirm your housing and dining selections for Fall, and get any final questions answered. Climb the rock wall and explore opportunities with Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC. Discuss available scholarships and what a career path in the military can offer you.
