VODIMO VAS U BEČ / WE’RE TAKING YOU TO VIENNA Evrovizija seli provod na brodove / The Eurovision party relocates to the riverboats
M aj je vreme za novu evropsku muzičku groznicu – Eurovision Song Contest vraća se ove godine u Beč, grad domaćin nakon prošlogodišnje pobede Austrije. Polufina- la su zakazana za 12. i 14. maj, dok je ve- liko finale 16. maja – tri večeri kada Evropa živi za muziku, spektakl i (neizbežne) kontroverze. Pored toga, manifestacijom „Euro Week Cruises“ Beč nu- di raznovrstan program na vodi za goste iz celog sveta. Ovaj inovativni format događaja na jedinstven način spaja muziku, lajfstajl i razgledanje grada. Od 9. do 17. maja svakodnevno će se održavati tri dnevna krstarenja sa polaskom sa pristani- šta „Wien Reichsbrücke“. Dvočasovne vožnje kombinuju ra- zgledanje grada sa Dunava uz muzički program i di-žejeve ko- ji će praviti atmosferu uz miks evrovizijskih hitova. A Srbija? Ove godine nas predstavlja bend „Lavina“ sa pesmom „Kraj mene“, pobednikom nacionalnog izbo- ra. Njihov zvuk ide u neočekivanom pravcu za Evroviziju – spoj alternativnog/metal senzibiliteta i emotivne melodi- je, što ih već izdvaja u moru klasičnih pop formata. Da li je to dovoljno za finale ili čak više ostaje da se vidi. Ali jedno je sigurno – Evrovizija ponovo donosi onaj osećaj kolektiv- nog TV rituala. Jer, realno, gde još u tri sata dobijete i mu- ziku, i totalni haos, i guilty pleasure u jednom paketu?
M ay is the right month to catch the new Euro- pean music fever – with the Eurovision Song Contest returning to Vienna, which is this year’s host city following last year’s victory for the Austrian entrant. The semi-finals have been scheduled for 12 th and 14 th May, with the grand final set for 16 th May. These will be three nights when Europe literally lives for music, spectacle and (inevitable) controversy. In addition, with “Euro Week Cruises”, the Austrian capital is offering a diverse river programme for guests arriving from all over the world. This innovative event format combines music, lifestyle and sightseeing in a unique way. Three Euro Day Cruises per day will depart from the Wien Reichsbrücke pier during the Eurovision week of 9 th to 17 th May. These two-hour trips com- bine city sightseeing from the perspective of the Danube, along- side a music programme and DJs who will create a party atmos- phere with a mix of Eurovision hits. And Serbia? We are this year being represented by the band Lavina with the song Kraj Mene (Next to Me), which won the national competition. This band’s sound is somewhat unexpect- ed for Eurovision – representing a combination of alternative/ hard rock sensibilities and emotional melodies, which already sets them apart in a sea of traditional pop formats. It remains to be seen whether that will be enough for Lavina to reach the fi- nals or achieve even more. However, one thing is for sure: Euro- vision brings back that feeling of collective TV ritual. Because, let’s face it, where else can you get three hours of music, total chaos and guilty pleasures in a single package?
